The carnival season has finally arrived! At last, the possibility to dress up as Casanova and hit the Venetian calli or to dress up as a Marchesa and visit a Venetian ball.

One of the most prestigious studios in Venice is Nicolao, founded in 1983 in the surroundings of Campo Santa Margherita and since 2006 (showroom, shop, tailoring and workshop) in Cannaregio at the Fondamenta della Misericordia. In case you want to get a first impression of their work, just go to the video rental store and get one of the following movies that Nicolao was creating the costumes for: Elizabeth, The Wings of the Dove, the Merchant of Venice or Casanova. Or you simply visit the E-Store on their website. 😉

Atelier Tiepolo
The Atelier Tiepolo offers a huge choice of costumes (around 300): On the occasion of the carnival, the studio will be accessible to everyone, interested in renting a costume, in the famous Hotel Danieli (at the Riva degli Schiavoni) from the 6th of February till the 17th of February 2015 (from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.). You either book your appointment or just pass by.

This studio offers handmade 17th/18th-century-style-costumes, for rent or for sale, in three stores. You can find the costumes on their homepage. Price on inquiry.

This studio, founded in 1980 and amongst others assigned with the creation of divers costumes for the exposition „Viva Mozart“ in Salzburg/Austria, offers a costume rental service in the Luna Baglioni Hotel (from the 6th of February till the 17th of February 2015).
