One of the student hotspots in Venice is Al Parlamento near the Ponte delle Guglie and the University Ca’ Foscari: One of this cute tiny Venetian bars that serve good coffee, aperitivi and sandwiches.
It’s location is very central (but not directly on the touristy Strada Nuova) and the interior of the bar neat and kept in a modern nautical style (ropes everywhere).
In summer you can enjoy your Aperol Spritz outside at one of the tables alongside the Fondamenta or you just grab a drink and continue to the far northern end of the Fondamenta (where you’ll find the university, thus the opposite direction of the Ponte delle Guglie) to enjoy the view over the laguna, the boats that pass by …
During carnival it’s one of the best spots to assist the corteo acqueo that inaugurates the carnival season.

Piacere, mi chiamo Beatrice!
I grew up in the heart of the Alps, in Innsbruck, and decided in 2012 to move from the snowy Tyrolean peaks to the Venetian lagoon.
The travel-bug bit me during an Erasmus stay in France and so I decided after my University studies to start a backpack adventure through Canada.
After one year I said “good bye” to the American continent and moved to Venice (What you do for love!) and searched for a possibility to combine my passion for languages, travelling, culture and reading.
The solution? Four years ago I passed the governmental exam here in Italy to become a licensed tour leader and then a tour guide. Since then I’m guiding visitors through this fascinating city.
