You can find pretty anything on these flea markets/antiques markets and actually, for me, it’s always like travelling back in time through human history and going on treasure hunting at the same time. Sure, you’ll also find a lot of junk, but that’s the beautiful thing about those markets: It’s kind of going back to your childhood, or the one of your parents or grandparents.
One of the most beautiful markets is, in my opinion, the one that takes place every last Sunday of the month in front of the suggestive setting of Villa Contarini in Piazzola sul Brenta, located about an hour by car away from Venice (direction: Padova).
Fortunately we were (in spite of the rush of visitors) immediately able to find a parking space, to the right side of Villa Contarini, on a field that was converted to a parking lot on the occasion of the market. Charges: an amount of your choice … Not bad at all and only a five minutes walk away from the Villa!
Opening hours: last Sunday of the month till 4/5 p.m.
